THIS WEEK IN CHRISTIAN EDUCATION:garden22Marilyn Foley, N.W.S.

Sunday School classes will meet at 9:00 this week.

On Sunday, our 10:00 Fisher Folk groups will learn about Jesus’ post-resurrection appearances to his disciples in a series called, “Knowing Jesus in a New Way.”  These are new Godly Play lessons, so this will be the first time children will hear these stories during Fisher Folk time! 

Children in grades pre-k – 2 are invited to Classroom 2 for the lesson. 

 Fisher Folk for the Summer:  Fisher Folk will continue to meet over the summer from 10:00 – 10:40 on Sundays. However, children will not be doing Godly Play lessons.  Instead, they will take a tour of the Bible from Genesis through the Gospels! Summer Fisher Folk will meet in Classroom 3.These classes begin on Sunday, June 2; there will NOT be a Fisher Folk class on Memorial Day weekend, May 26.

At SPY this evening, our fellowship program for youth in grades 6 – 12, the J2A teachers will be present and the J2A group will decide on their pilgrimage location at this SPY!  Come be a part of the process this Sunday at 6:00 pm.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UPCOMING EVENTS:

“Stories in Stitches” is a new book featuring the designs, texts and photographs of all of St. Peter’s needlepoint pieces. Marilyn Foley has put together this tribute to the “stitchers” whose countless hours of needle artistry add immeasurable beauty to our lovely church.  Stop by at coffee hour. The edition is limited so, if interested, it would be wise to make your purchases as soon as possible. Proceeds will go to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church for special projects.  

If you would like purchase “Manna from Savannah”, St. Peter’s cookbook at any time please contact Nancy Neumann at 598-0848, or Judy Kenney at 598-5421.

2013 Events For Your Calendar:

On Sunday, we will wrap up the Sunday school year with our Covered Dish Luncheon. The whole congregation is invited to stay after the 10 o’clock service to help us recognize and thank all the teachers who have worked with such dedication in our Christian Education program this year.  We also will celebrate the Ministry of Betsey Bass, Director of Christian Education. May 26 - Coffee Hour will be as usual in the Parish Hall.

Saturday, May 25 at 5pm-  Please join us for Will Brawner's Senior Piano Recital at St. Peter's.  There will be a reception following in the parish hall.  Senior Recital:  Please join us next Saturday afternoon, May 25, in the sanctuary at 5 pm to enjoy Will Brawner’s Senior Recital.   Afterwards you are invited to a reception in the parish hall. 

 Will has been an important part of St. Peter’s since a young age as an acolyte and also through his involvement in the music program. The program will consist of classical pieces ranging from Bach, Haydn, Mozart, and Beethovan through Ravel, Chopin, and Shubert. There will also be a rock piece with Kelly Bouchillon on electric guitar and an art song sung by Chloe Dunstan.

Worship Services

St. Peter's Episcopal Church is located on beautiful Skidaway Island, we are a parish of 600 parishioners, or approximately 250 families.  

Our Services are at 8:00am and 10:00am. Holy Communion is offered every Sunday at the 10:00am service and on alternating Sundays at the 8:00am service.  We also offer a Healing Service on Wednesdays at 10:00am.
